The truth is, information that is posted on the Internet is not monitored for accuracy. There are thousands of sites online with “facts,” figures, statistics, data, instruction, surveys, information, guidance, counsel and advice about divorce; the only absolute truth is that some of it is good information, and a large percentage of it is not. To be sure, many lawyers, firms, and authors carefully research their information and monitor their websites carefully for accuracy, but you do not always know which websites those are. If you are in the middle of a divorce proceeding, the best thing you can do for yourself is to meet with your attorney in person. Make sure you are getting the information you need from a credible source!
